Health Check-up camps for the Villagers
In 10 villages of Beed district, free health check-up camps are organized with the support of government hospitals. These camps benefit the elderly, women, and children in the villages.
As healthcare facilities are located far from these villages, many people tend to neglect minor illnesses, which eventually develop into serious conditions. Recognizing this issue, the organization has been conducting free health check-up camps for the villagers for the past six years.
This initiative helps in identifying illnesses at an early stage, thereby improving the health and well-being of the villagers.
Awareness Programs for Hygiene and Health at the Community Level
In densely populated slum areas, various challenges emerge due to the overcrowded living conditions. These areas are particularly prone to the spread of diseases. The primary reasons include inadequate wastewater management, improper waste disposal, lack of personal hygiene, insufficient public sanitation facilities, and limited access to basic healthcare services.
These challenges lead to stagnant water, breeding grounds for mosquitoes, and a polluted environment, all of which contribute to the outbreak of various diseases. Vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immunity, are at a higher risk. Diseases such as dengue, malaria, diarrhea, typhoid, respiratory infections, and skin disorders are commonly observed in such areas.
To create a healthier environment and raise awareness, various initiatives are implemented at the community level. Regular programs are conducted in areas like Jagtap Nagar, Thergaon, Pavana Nagar, Dhawade Wasti, and Janata Vasahat. These programs aim to educate residents on the importance of cleanliness, proper wastewater and waste management, and both personal and public hygiene practices.
Public spaces in slum areas are targeted for cleanliness campaigns. Residents are encouraged to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. Camps are organized to highlight the importance of waste segregation. Training sessions on personal hygiene habits, such as regular hand washing and using clean water, are conducted.
Efforts are made to improve the condition of public toilets in these areas by collaborating with local authorities. Campaigns are conducted to ensure regular maintenance of sanitation facilities. Free health check-ups and medication distribution for children, pregnant women, and the elderly. Awareness is created about the importance of vaccination, and vaccination camps are made accessible. Sessions are conducted in schools to educate children about the importance of cleanliness. Activities like drawing and essay competitions, as well as poster exhibitions, are organized to spread messages effectively.
